I have two one of these bad boys for sale due to a failed project I had planned. My loss can be a bargain for the data hoarder's end game server. 90x 3.5" SAS/SATA bays! So much storage!!!
The sever works perfectly. I don't want to sell it but they're just unnecessary for me now that my plans for them fell through.
Supermicro's website has all the details you need: SuperStorage 6049SP-E1CR90. I also wrote a blog post about the servers when I first got them.
Idle power is around 140W (PUE2)/250W (Standard) with 8x SAS HDDs installed.
Noise isn't that bad after POST. Can't hear it in house when in garage. In PUE2 mode my gaming PC is louder.
They are long units! You need at least 1,200mm clearance if installing in a rack with doors.
I have 2x Intel Xeon Gold 6230R CPUs to suit these servers but haven't installed them, let me know if you want them too ($350 for the pair).
I also have 12x 8GB sticks of 2933MHz DDR4 RDIMM memory I can include with the server if you need them.
